CRAYON PENCIL HOLDERS
DIY pencil holders make the best gifts! I’ve been making these pencil holders with my classes now for over 20 years and they are always a hit! Just so you know, you can totally make these homemade pencil holders using pencils, colored pencils or even sticks – but I think the crayon ones are the absolute most fun! And who doesn’t love Crayola crayons? Today I am posting one of my favorites – I do this pencil holder with every class and its always a win. The hardest part is the beginning but then it is smooth sailing!
WHAT DO I NEED?
- CRAYONS – for a Pringles can you need at least 32 crayons (can be more or less depending on jar size)

Step 1: Clean out the pringles cans using a wipe. You can also use soap and water which is good – especially if you’ve eaten salt and vinegar chips!
Step 2: Sort the crayons. You will need about 33 crayons. Place them in the order you want them to go.

Step 3: Place a rubberband around the pringles can. This step is important because it keeps the crayons in place until the glue dries.

Step 4: Add glue above the rubber band and below. Press firmly until the crayon stays in place. Continue adding crayons all the way around.

Step 5: Add a ribbon to cover the rubberband. You can also remove the rubber band and just keep your diy pencil holder plain – but I really think the ribbons look nice!

Step 6: Let dry and enjoy! These make great gifts!
